Psyllium husk is known to help as an intestinal cleanser for
the bowel. It assists with cleansing the intestines by removing
putrefactive (old and accumulated) toxins. It also helps the
evacuation of the bowel, lubricating the intestines and
stimulates normal muscular activity without causing cramps and
griping. Psyllium seeds expand and can decrease the density of
faeces by absorbing water and carrying moisture into the bowel.
Cascara increases bowel transit time and the secretion of bile,
making it a useful liver and bowel tonic.
